Ronnie Nelson
Percussionist Congas
Ronnie started playing drums and percussion in his school band in the 60’s. He went on to record
with various members of the Motown’s alumni in association with Robert Dennis, who worked
in the mastering room for Motown through the years of 1963- 68. Ronnie graduated from the
Recording Institute of Detroit in the 80’s, of which was established by Robert Dennis. During a
ten-year period, Ronnie recorded original music with Robert.
He also worked with songwriter/guitarist, Dick Wagner, in his Saginaw studio, Wagner Music
Group and Studio.
Over the years, Ronnie has performed for more than 400,000 people in theaters, festivals,
concerts and state fairs all across America and Canada, and has played in many bands nationally,
and in the Detroit area, such as Mr. Lucky, Close Call, Volunteer, and Satisfaction.
